A flutter of caps fell to the ground, light blue flying through the air.

"Haru, we did it!" A giggle left her lips as she stared over at him with her large golden eyes.
"We did." Haru smiled slightly.
Saori had a large smile on her face as she faced her friends, Makoto standing next to them.
"We're graduates!" Makoto grinned.

The smell of warm sweetened cream and roasted coffee beans filled the air around the trio, after commencement they had gone to their regular cafe.
Makoto's warm green eyes looked over the couple that sat across from him. Haru had warmed over the three years he had been dating Saori, he didn't only think of water.
"I'll be back." Haru said as he stood.
Makoto knew that the issue of moving on in life was plaguing his oldest friend. As the raven haired man walked away Makoto turned to look at Sai.
"What are you guys planning?"
"I haven't figured it out yet." Saori sigh in defeat.
"You aren't going to split up, right?" Makoto asked, worry filling his tone.
"Of course not. I love him to much to let him leave me like that. My parents want me to bring him to Hokkaido, but I would love to see Iwatobi. You guys made it out to be something beautiful by the coast."

"Haru, did you pack everything?" Sai asked as she sat on his bed.
"Yes." He sigh as he looked over at his girlfriend.
"Okay. Mako, did he pack everything?"
"I think so." Came Makoto's reply from the bathroom.
"Don't you trust me?" Haru raised a brow at her antics.
"Well, you forget a lot of stuff." She said with a sheepish smile.
"I don't forget you, do I?" Haru challenged.
Saori grinned at him "No, I guess not."
"So we're going to Hokkaido first?" Haru asked as he finished packing his case.
"Yeah, my parents want to meet you. I mean we've been dating for three years, and they still don't know you."
"Yeah." Haru said quietly. "Then we're going to Iwatobi so you can meet everyone else."
"Yeah, I'm really excited." A smile graced her face, it made Haru smile softly.

"I'll see you two in a week!" Makoto called from the platform as Haru and Saori boarded their train to Hokkaido.
"Bye Mako!" Sai called with a smile.
Haru simply waved in his simple style, he leaned back into his seat as the train started to move. He took in his girlfriends appearance as she stared out the window.
In the past three years he had noticed that she was far more toned, most likely from learning to swim with him and Makoto. Her once short hair had grown out to just around her chin, it was parted on the right and mostly pushed off to the left. She was still far paler than himself and Makoto, her shoulders were speckled with freckles from exposure to the sun. She wore a pair of round sunglasses, her prescription glasses tucked away in her case. Haru felt a smile work it's way onto his face, she was beautiful. He was glad for the moment he was able take to rediscover this.

Sai smiled as the train started to slow, they were pulling into Toyako Station. She nudged Haru, who was dozing off next to her.
"Haru, we're here. Come on, my parents are really excited to meet you."
Her boyfriends eyes fluttered open and his deep blue eyes met hers, she saw worry flash through his usually stoic gaze.
"Hey, don't worry. They're gonna love you as much as I do." Saori smiled at him.
She watched as his face flushed from the neck up to the tips of his ears.
"Don't say embarrassing stuff like that." He grumbled averting his gaze.
She grinned to herself, she stood up and pulled her case down from the above head. Reaching in she grabbed her boyfriends case as well, she passed it down to him.
"Toyako Station, Hokkaido." The conductor announced over the PA system.
"This is us." Sai said as she started to make her way to the exit, Haru close at her heels.

Haru grasped for Saori's hand as his feet hit the platform, a warm breeze blew around them. Feeling a soft squeeze on his hand he knew that she wasn't going to leave him alone in this. Saori pulled on his hand and led him into the crowd.
"Saori!" A woman's voice called out.

Haru's head snapped up and he saw a woman in about her forties standing next to a man of around the same age, beside the couple was a younger man probably no older than seventeen. The woman had long plum colored hair, there were hints of white streaking through it. Her eyes were a dark brown, she had a kind smile on her face. The older man had dark brown hair peppered with grey, and golden eyes that were identical to Saori's. The young man was almost a carbon copy of the woman, the same color hair and eyes.
"Mom!" Sai pulled Haru faster to meet the small group of people.
"Saori! I'm so glad you're home!" Her mother smiled at her.
"Mom, Dad, Haku; this is Haru." She wasted no time in introducing him.
Before he could really say anything her mother launched onto him with a large hug.
"It's so wonderful to finally meet you! I've heard so many great things about you!"
"Y-you too." Haru stuttered, his nerves getting the best of him. It was like Nationals all over again, except if he failed he would break the love of his life's heart.

The car ride to their families home was quiet, the hum of the engine making up most of the noise. Finally the young man, Haku, spoke up.
"How was graduation? I hated missing it."
"Oh, it was amazing. I wish I had more pictures, but here are a few I got." Saori leaned over Haru to show Haku some images on her phone.
"Wow, you looked awesome!" The young man proclaimed.
Out of habit Haru reached for Sai's hand, this was something he did when he was jealous. He had no reason to be, he knew that, but he couldn't help himself. He felt her squeeze his hand back as she continued to talk to her younger brother animatedly.
"So Haru, what did you get a degree in?"
"Kinesiology." Haru said quietly in response to the younger man next to him.
"Really? That's awesome! What do you want to do?" Haku questioned, his dark eyes looked excited at the idea of learning more.
"Uh- I want to become a swim instructor in my hometown." He answered quietly again.

Saori felt a grin creep onto her face at Haru's show of affection and jealousy, she thought it was adorable. Haku met her gaze and wiggled his eyebrows, she rolled her eyes at her younger brother and squeezed Haru's hand back. The car slowed down as they pulled into the drive of her childhood home. The house was just as she remembered; a two story, traditional style house. The front garden was filled with beautiful blooming flowers, she smiled at the small hanging pots of herbs. She was finally back home. Glancing out of the corner of her eye she noticed Haru's facial expression. He was awe of the building that was before him.
"Well come on you two!" Her mother giggled as she got out of the car, she opened the back door that was closest to Saori. Excitedly the young woman hopped out of the car and onto the lawn that was laid out around her.
"It's beautiful." Sai said to her mother as she gave her another hug.
"Now I'm expecting to hear all the details on your relationship over dinner." Saori's father chuckled.
Haru was shaking slightly again, Saori knew that he was very nervous to speak to her family.

"Okay, and up here are Saori and Haku's rooms. I'm to assume that you'll be staying with Saori?" Mrs. Ito asked with a gentle smile on her face.
"U-uh." Haru coughed awkwardly.
"M-mom." Saori blushed at her mothers forwardness, "Yeah, he'll stay in my room."
"Perfect! I'll make sure I bring another pillow from the closet." The grin on the older woman's face never fading as she assessed the embarrassment on her daughters face.
"Now you two go unpack and get settled before dinner." She ushered them into Saori's old room. The door slid shut and Sai looked over at her boyfriend who was a blushing mess.
"I'm sorry Haru, she's a bit much sometimes."
"I-it's fine. I just wasn't expecting a question like that." He coughed awkwardly as he scratched the back of his neck.
Leaning up Saori captured his lips in a soft kiss, Haru stiffened in surprise but then relaxed into it. As quickly as it had started the kiss ended.

"I'm expecting to learn how you met." Mrs. Ito giggled as she looked over her daughter's boyfriend carefully.
"Well," Haru started, but he quickly stopped talking.
"Go on dear, we don't bite." The middle aged woman laughed softly.
"We officially met in a coffee shop on campus." Haru said softly. "But I had seen her in my English class, she sat only a few seats away from me."
"How did it happen though?" Haku butted in.
"Hey, he's getting to it." Saori smiled at her brother.

Placing his chopsticks down Haru smiled to himself, he could remember the day very well.
"My best friend managed to drag me out of our dorm to the coffee shop, the only places I'd been were classes and the pool. He said I needed to see people and interact with the real world, I'm really glad he made me go out. We got to the shop and out of the corner of my eye I saw Saori, she was ordering something. Makoto and I sat down, unknowingly, next to Sai. When she sat down I couldn't help but stare at her, I didn't even notice I was doing it until Makoto made a point of it. So I just stood up and pointed out where I knew her from. Granted it probably wasn't very charming."

"The three of us were very close, we always hung out. Makoto and I were on the swim team at the University of Tokyo, so we spent a lot of time at the pool."
"Pool? Sai, you don't know how to swim." Haku butted in, he stared at his older sister in confusion.
"Well, I didn't. I do now, thanks to Haru's patience and ability to teach me." Saori commented with a smile as she affectionately patted her boyfriend's hand. Haru blushed again, he looked down at his plate, the mackerel Mrs. Ito prepared still sitting on the dish.
"Please, do continue." Mr. Ito said with a smile.
"Oh, of course." Haru said swallowing his fear for a second time.

"I have never been in love, I spent all my time in water. I just assumed I didn't feel things like love, except towards the water. Swimming is something my life has been dedicated to, so I figured women weren't something I was interested in. When I became closer with Saori, she was all I could think about. She was in the back of my mind all the time, I just couldn't figure it out. It took Makoto explaining what I was feeling for me to finally understand what it meant. He sat me down at the pool and made me listen.
'These feelings, these thoughts; this is completely normal. It's called being in love Haru. You've never felt it with a person because you're too obtuse to realize when you like someone, or they like you. Don't let her get away from you, you have to tell her how you feel. Do it quickly, she won't wait for forever.'
It was that lecture that allowed me to accept what I had been feeling for three months prior to that day. Ever since then I've been the happiest of my life."

As Haru finished speaking the table was silent, no one said a word. Saori was smiling at her boyfriends sweet sentiment, Haku was shocked by this stoic humans affection towards his sister. Mr. and Mrs. Ito smiled widely at the young couple.
"That was beautiful Haru, thank you for taking such good care of our daughter." Mr. Ito said, a gentle look on his face.
Realizing how embarrassing what he had just said was, a blush ran across both Haru and Saori's faces.

"Did you really feel that way?" Saori asked as she rolled over to be face to face with her boyfriend as they laid in bed.
"Well of course I did. It just took Makoto telling me to finally see it." His voice was soft, he reached out and stroked her silky smooth cheek.
"I love you." Sai said quietly to the man next to her.
"I love you, more than you'll ever know."
He pulled her smaller body closer to himself.
A warm summer breeze blew through the open window, past the curtains and across the young couple who remained wrapped in the thin cotton sheets of the futon.
